Disciplines & Public Events

We encourage and welcome you to participate in our public shooting events, aka Shooting Disciplines. The NCRGC calendar has all the specifics of scheduled public events including rifle (NRL22 & PRO Series), pistol (Defensive Pistol), and shotgun (Skeet & Trap) events. Weather permitting, there is something going on almost every weekend!

Contact the Discipline Chair / Match Director for additional information. Some of the matches require pre-registration and payment so be sure to read the event description on the Discipline web page. Non-members attending a public event cannot use other ranges while at the match.

Coming Soon! We now have an Archery Chair. Stay tuned for and additional information.

The Defensive Pistol discipline is dedicated to furthering the defensive shooting and gun handling skill of our match participants. We accomplish this by providing an informal and relaxed environment in which all match participants may seek the knowledge and advice of other individuals that have the same interest.

This annual event is held in June each year and it is open to members, family members, and guests. Participants get to experience everything that the Club has to offer in a single day at the range which includes supervised shooting, lunch, and door prizes!

First Shots seminars are the perfect opportunity for members to invite new shooters to come to the range for some free safety instruction and supervised shooting. Invite your family, co-workers, neighbors, friends, relatives, and anyone who wants a safety refresher to a First Shots seminar.

The Know Your Limits match is designed to test your knowledge of current shooting conditions, and your own capabilities.  Your firearm, ammo, weather, etc..., will have to be factored in.  KYL is a match for 22 long rifle, rim-fire firearms.

Whether you do It for the bragging rights or you simply want to prove It to yourself, the Marksmanship Qualification Program is one of the best ways to objectively measure your proficiency against a national marksmanship standard.

The National Rifle League 22 is dedicated to the growth and education of precision rifle shooting through a wide range of outdoors-related public interest activities. These activities are designed to develop marksmanship skills for those participating in the shooting sports, promote firearms and hunting safety, and to educate the general public about firearms.

The Precision Rimfire Outlaws Series is a .22LR tactical long range shooting series in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. Shooters compete locally throughout the regular season (July – May). Then in June, shooters can represent their home club at the PRO Series Championship match.

This safe, family friendly event is held in August of each year and it is open to the public. There are 20 stages including bowling pins, aliens, playing cards, pencils, ducks, murder hornets, Army men, zombies, billiards, and more. Each participant receives tickets good for numerous door prizes, including firearms! Lunch is provided.

The Shotgun discipline is dedicated to those who would like to refine their shotgun skills though the use of the NCRGC skeet and trap fields or the members manual throwing station. Our skeet and trap events are open to the public and occur throughout the month.
